Workplace Safety and Health For Food And Beverage Operations (Level 2) is for food/drink stall assistant and food services counter attendant, waiter, and waiter supervisor who need the required knowledge and abilities to work safely and help maintain a safe work environment.
On successful completion, learners should be able to:
1. Explain the importance of adhering to WSH policies
2. Describe their roles and responsibilities in maintaining and improving workplace safety
3. Assist in the conduct of compliance inspections to identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions and practices
4. Communicate WSH risks and control measures to relevant stakeholders
5. Identify PPE and safety device required for safe operation of tools and equipment
6. Follow safety signs, instructions and workplace risk control measures in accordance with the organizational procedures
Under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) for food services sector, it is mandatory for workers to
complete 2 approved courses. Workplace Safety and Health For Food And Beverage Operations (Level 2) course is on the list of approved PWM courses and will be accepted as one of the two mandatory courses.

The Food Services Progressive Wage Model (PWM) will have a “run-in” period from 1 March 2023 to 31 August during which MOM will not take enforcement action against employers that have yet to comply with Food Services PWM requirements. One of the requirements is for workers to complete 2 WSQ courses from a list of approved courses of which Customer Service Excellence (Level 1) is one such course.
