Course Information

This training program is designed to meet the specific needs of Appointed First Aiders, Safety Officers, Laboratory Technicians, and workers operating heavy machinery in the workplace. It ensures they have the knowledge and skills required to enhance safety, respond to emergencies, and maintain safety protocols in their respective roles. In summary, it serves as a comprehensive resource to support workplace safety and risk minimization across various functions. This course can replace/equivalent to  the CERT (Company Emergency Response Team) course by SCDF.

Who Is This For?

1) Appointed First Aiders Where more than 25 persons are employed in a workplace, there shall be appointed in the workplace as first-aiders who shall be readily available during working hours. Such number of persons as complies with the ratio of one first-aider for every 100 persons employed in the workplace or part thereof (Workplace Safety and Health (First-Aid) Regulations).

Certification

Participants who complete this course will receive the following:

1) OFA Certificate (2 years validity)

2) CPR+AED Certificate (2 years validity)

For Singaporeans (age 21yr to 39yr) & Permanent Residents (SSG Funding is up to 50%) $150 $150

Duration

Theory Lesson: 13 hours 50 minutes (Asynchronous E-learning)

 

Practical Training/ Written & Practical Assessment: 7 hours (Classroom-based) + 2 hours 40 minutes (Practical and Theory Assessment) = NOW face-to face only for 9h 40 mins

About The Course

The Occupational First Aid Course (OFAC) is approved by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). OFAC is for individuals who are required to meet the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) Act. OFAC is a classroom-based, instructor-led program with lectures and skills, hands-on training, and demonstrations being conducted. The course will educate the students on the critical skills in responding to emergencies in the workplace in current situations. The course includes occupational safety and CPR-AED modules to meet the guidelines and methods stipulated by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC).

 

Adapting to technology and adjusting to difficult times today, we now provide Asynchronous and Blended E-Learning. This will allow one to attend and complete the theory lessons at one’s own pace and comfort outside their busy schedule.

With the new Occupational First Aid (Asynchronous and Blended E-Learning), we have also incorporated Team Building Course Elements to encourage the development of interpersonal skills such as Communication, Leadership, Trust, Problem Solving, etc

Training is held at :

  1. Lavender MRT Station
  2. Marymount MRT Station
  3. HarbourFront MRT Station
  4. MacPherson MRT Station

We are able to conduct in-house training.

Declaration Of Medical Conditions

As part of the assessment requirements, participants must do 2 minutes of continuous chest compressions and this can be physically strenuous. Participants experiencing the following medical conditions are advised not to the participant.
1) Now or has ever had or been bothered with any medical illnesses like back trouble, knee/joint/spinal injuries, heart trouble, high blood pressure, fainting spells, other physical conditions, or other medical disabilities or serious illness
2) Is currently pregnant
If you proceed with the course, please seek your doctor’s advice for the green light to continue, and produce the doctor’s letter. If you opt-out of the CPR+AED assessment during the course, you will not pass the course and instead, receive a Certificate of Attendance.

SDU Points For Safety Officers

The course has been approved under the Continuing Professional Development Program, where Workplace Safety and Health Officers will be awarded 9 Safety Development Unit (SDU) points.
